§ 1-3. Interpretation.

  • 1-3-1. The standards and procedures contained herein are declared to be the minimum requirements for the promotion of the public safety, health, convenience, comfort, prosperity and general welfare.

    1-3-2. This ordinance is not intended to interfere with, abrogate, or annul any easement, covenant, restriction or any other agreement between parties; provided, however, that where this ordinance imposes a greater restriction upon the use of buildings or land, or imposes additional standards, or requires additional improvements or larger open spaces than are imposed or required by other resolutions, ordinances, rules, regulations or by easements, covenants or agreements, the provisions of this ordinance shall govern.

    1-3-3. Nothing in this ordinance to the contrary withstanding, where there is or appears to be conflict between the provisions of this ordinance and the zoning ordinance of the Town of Cape Charles, then the provisions of the zoning ordinance shall govern.
